March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Happy Places

Go Team USA! My family and I loved watching the Winter Olympics together. The March Stamp of the Month, Happy Places, reminds me of Sochi with the Matroyshka dolls. Coincidence CTMH? I think not!

Thanks for joining me from Lalia's blog. This month's set of 7 stamps focuses on home, mother/daughter relationships and those adorable nesting Russian dolls. Here's my take:

This is a 5x7 card cut from White Daisy Cardstock. I used Lagoon Houndstooth and Ruby Chevron Washi Tape crisscrossed to create my background. Then, I stamped the dolls with Archival Black Exclusive Ink (a must for crisp stamping!) and colored them in with Lagoon, Cranberry and Honey Exclusive Inks Markers. To use the "happy" I simply cut that word out of the stamp phrase, stamped it, cut it into a pennant and attached it to a toothpick! Sure, I could totally have used the masking technique. But, that cute "happy" is going to get a lot of use. He deserves some alone time!

This stamp set is pretty versatile. I can totally envision using it as a layout for Mother's Day (with me and my mom since I have sweet little boys). Here's the full set of stamps you'll get:

Remember, Happy Places is only available the month of March through your Close To My Heart Independent Consultant. For just $5 with any $50 order, you can own your own Happy Places!

Now, it's time to hop over to Susan's blog to see her creativity. There are more than 50 consultants sharing their artwork this month, so if you get lost you can find a complete list here. And, isn't Adeline's blog badge just too cute?

New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to the New Product Blog Hop featuring all new products from CTMH's Spring/Summer 2014 Idea Book. Thanks for hopping over from Keeley Kirwan's blog. Remember, if you get lost along the way, you can go here for a complete list of hoppers.

I LOVE the new Idea Book. My absolute favorite paper pack is Timberline. The rich colors, the variety of B&T papers and of course the outdoorsy theme works perfectly for this mom of two boys. I created two cards that will likely become thank you notes to my dad, who always takes my boys to do the "manly" stuff my hubby and I aren't excited about: fishing, shooting BB guns and tracking animals.

Wishes File Pocket Card, p. 89

Wishes Name Plate Card, p. 18

Here are the products I used to create these cards, New Products are in bold:

  • Timberline Paper Packet, X7182B
  • Goldrush Cardstock (included in the Workshop on the Go, but not the Paper Packet), 1243
  • Catch You Later Stamp Set, D1580
  • Flight of the Arrows Stamp Set, D1578
  • Marquee Enamel Shapes, Z1961
  • Durables Triangle Studs, Z1928
  • Ink Pads (Bamboo, Z2103; Twilight, Z2160; Chocolate, Z2111)
  • CTMH Cricut Artiste Cartridge, Z1790
The Flight of the Arrow stamp set is sure to become a top "go to" for me. The background arrows on the first card and chevron background on the second card are from Flight of the Arrow. If you have any Cub or Boy Scouts, this is a MUST HAVE stamp set! I love the Marquee Enamel Shapes, but they were too bright white for this project. So, I inked them with the Bamboo mini pigment ink pad (from the Basics set, Z2503). The ink hasn't completely dried yet (I'll update that status tomorrow!), but the color totally works now.

Thanks for taking time to see my cards; I'd love it if you left me a comment! Now it's time to see the talented artwork from Krista Hershberger. Happy hopping!
